For front teeth and the visible sections of back teeth we offer color matched composite fillings designed to match the exact color of your teeth. That helps these fillings to be nearly invisible once installed. And while composite fillings are not permanent, with the proper care they can last for many years.

How Are Tooth-Colored Fillings Done?

When installing composite fillings, the decayed area of the tooth is removed, and a mild acid solution is used to clean the surface of the area being repaired. This is generally done using a local anesthetic to numb the area. Once cleaned, a bonding material is prepared and placed in the tooth. The material is then cured to encourage adhesion to the existing tooth and to the final step, the color matched filling material, which is then installed to the bonding material. Once the filling material is shaped to the contours of your tooth, it is cured using a curing light. Once cured the doctor will check your bite for proper fit, make any final adjustments, and then you are done.
